Rack Attack Team
Welcome back, Rackies! Today we have a wonderful Kayak Rack for a 2007 Toyota 4 Runner that's just rearing to get this customer out to the lake for some kayaking. The rack itself is a Thule Hullavator mounted on the Thule Crossroad towers with 58" load bars. This is probably the coolest rack you'll even see in your life; and, it's so easy, a crazed-man could use it! Just come on down to Rack Attack Minneapolis and find out for yourself!
Just look at how this amazing kayak rack goes from it's proud position atop this fine Toyota 4 Runner, to the humbly receptive position on the safety first passenger side of the vehicle. Getting a kayak mounted on the roof of a vehicle was never so easy! Add some locks from Thule, and Anchor Straps from Yakima and your kayak isn't going anywhere but down to the lake for a leisurely paddle.
You may notice that the crossbars are skewed to the passenger side of this vehicle by several inches. This is to ensure the Hullavator clears the side of the vehicle when lowered to the loading position. When it comes to practical, we at Rack Attack do our best to make the products we sell as easy to use as possible, while still looking good doing it. Let's face it, looking good is what "it's" all about; and, since here at Rack Attack we understand your needs, if you want to look good we want you to look good!! In this case, looking good totally meant putting a Hullavator kayak rack on this Toyota 4 Runner.
In the course of this install we did determine that the maximum width boat the Hullavator kayak rack will hold is 36", and the maximum weight is 75 pounds. This pretty much necessitates you get a base rack system made by either Thule or Yakima in order to ensure your roof will hold the industry maximum 165 pounds. With the Thule Crossroads mounted on his Toyota 4 Runner factory rack, this Rackey is ready to mount his kayak-y on the roof and head to the lake!
