Are traditional tools required to install this?

No! Any tools required for installing this rack product come included in the box!

Will these bars rust?

While the coating of these steel bars is robust, eventually all steel will start to rust. How long it will take depends on your location and how you store your vehicle when not in use. This is just one of the reasons we suggest choosing aluminum bars for your roof rack.
